Like most AuDHD people, I have distinct preferences for stim tools. My preferences may vary from your preferences. I use these tools while trying to focus at work, and so most (but not all) of these stim tools produce little to no noise. These are in no particular order.
- Fidget Spinner: You may think fidget spinners were a fad a few years ago, but I’ve always liked the sensory feel of making them spin. Try lighter or heavier ones, like I have one that’s iridescent metal and quite hefty, it has a different feel from the plastic ones. You can get them from a lot of different places.
- Bike Chain Keyring: These things are great because they’re small, silent, and you can carry one around on a lanyard. I recommend buying them off Etsy, like this one.
- Click Bricks: These are magnetic bricks that you can click and unclick. They do make some noise.
- NeeDoh Nice Cube: They make a variety of shapes, but the Nice Cube is my favorite. It’s kind of a cross between a stress ball and goo.
- Fidget Cube: You can fidget differently with every side of the fidget cube. Some sides are silent, and some make a little noise.
- Keyboard Fidget: These fidgets are made from mechanical keyboard switches. Usually, they’re blue switches, so they’re clicky. But some listings, like this one, allow you to choose your switch.
